Usual breakfast start - a little later today about 9:30 as we were like sloths getting up. Driving to Trogir today which is around 60km / hour and a quarter away. Journey was lovely with stunning scenery throughout. Arrived in Trogir old town around mid day - very busy but bloody gorgeous place! So much history and architecture everywhere - I think I bored Mel senseless with it. Saw JK Rowling’s ex yacht moored up - Calypso - for sale for a cool £36 million. We went for a iced coffee - 5 euros each….prices are at a premium here. Then walked for miles through all the nooks and crannies of the old town - one of the most beautiful places we have ever seen. All of the restaurants and cafe’s are built into the Fortress walls themselves, creating some unbelievable spaces. We both had a Radler on the sea front, planes coming in about 300 feet above us as it is right under the flight path to Split airport. Headed back to the car and paid the 6 euro parking and then drove to Kava beach which is about 15km away. Wow! What a spot! Possibly the best beach ever! Secluded in a little cove with gently shelving pebbles and loads of space…we put our beds down and went for a delightful dip. Even Mel got in - it was that nice. Lounged and swam for a couple of hours, then headed back to Vodice. I left and made some phone calls and had a beer at Solcani Sal and Mel came to me. Decided to have a snacky / drinking night as all restauranted out. Started with a chicken meat pastry that was delightful! Then went to a bar on the harbour and Mel had a natural wine that she loved - white and then Rose. Then had another chicken pastry and headed to the disco! Spent the night in there drinking vodka and coke for Mel and various wines for myself. All 80’s music that after an hour was on a continuous loop. Bar bill was around £47 which seemed extremely cheap but we took it as a win and left promptly. We then grabbed 3 pizza slices for the walk home (2 for me, 1 for Mel) and collapsed after a spiffing day.
