[Croatia 2025]
Croatia 2025 - Day 7
Had a lie in until 9am and late 7 had a drive to Murter Island and Slanika Beach - weather a bit hazy today and cooler which suits us with no umbrella and feeling slightly tender. Found a great spot for our beds centrally on the beach and just below the restaurant so could hear the ambient music. Finished off my book and swim on and off throughout the day. Mel slept for a couple of hours (she did venture into the sea to her credit for 10 minutes). Mel had a coffee and me a pint mid afternoon and Mel wandered to find food- like a modern day hunter gatherer. She came back with some bread, cheese spread, emmental cheese and some ham and a wooden knife and fork. The results were delightful. Had a little walk after, this is another gorgeous place and the sea is crystal clear with an abundance of fish. Parking was 8 euros per day. Had a little drive to the nearest town but not a lot going on so set off back to Vodice. Realised I am very red / burnt - the sun can indeed burn you through clouds. Quick change and out and headed for a couple of bars on the harbour front - Mel tried a “natural wine” which we had never seen before which was very nice and different. Then headed to a well regarded Italian restaurant called Angolo - Mel had garlic pesto and olive oil spaghetti and I tried the shrimp Gnocci (first time ever had Gnocci) - they are like little dumplings and it was all lovely. We also had a garlic pizza flat bread side to rip and share. Headed home for about 9pm - the earliest yet! Lovely chilled day though.
